Tyden Farm No. 6, rural Dougherty, Iowa, is pleased to announce that they have been included in “The Barn Raisers”, a historical documentary film about barns in the upper Midwest states.

The Barn Raisers movie, produced by Emmy Award Winning, Fourth Wall Films, is featuring the Tyden No. 6 Barn in its 80-minute documentary! The launch of the movie will occur on January 28th, 2017 at 6:30PM at the Putnam Museum in Davenport, Iowa.

According to the Putnam Museum’s website, “The Barn Raisers historical documentary feature film tells the story of barns in the Upper Midwest by examining them through the lens of architecture. What do barn settings, styles, methods and materials tell us about the people who built them, the life they lived, and the role these vanishing country cathedrals played in the settling and building of a growing nation?”

Copies of the film will be sold on the farm, Tyden Farm No., 6 owned by Ted and Judy Pitzenberger is one of Emil Tyden’s original farms in North Central Iowa. Their massive barn was erected in 1936 by the Swedish immigrant and has been restored and maintained by the Pitzenberger’s and is open to the public for tours by reservation! The tour not only includes the impressive barn, but also a summer kitchen, water silo, grain storage, extensive gardens, and a museum.
